We are all now even more excited and moving on to the next step in, get this, Operation Chicken Engagement. Tom named it this because he calls us chickens! Our order was to meet Tom's brother outside the airport to take us to Carly and Tom's condo. At this time Nat, Jen and I are all grinning ear to ear and can't wait for this to happen! Tom's brother picks us up and away we go. Poor guy, we ask him stupid questions and uncomfortable comments.... you know us. He has a 4 page spreadsheet detailing his role in this production. Included in t his packet were our flight numbers and arrival times, a picture of us so he knows who to pick up, a minute by minute plan of action once we arrive at the condo. I obviously thought this spreadsheet was greatness...
Our mission if we so choose to complete it.

We park, load up our arms full of bags, rose petals, champagne, etc. And secretly cross the road to the condo. They were eating right below their place at that same moment!! We get in, fall in love with her place because this was the first time we had been able to see it! We immediately start to decorate and come up with a plan of action when they walk in. We decided, rose petals encircled by lit candles. I did a play list of Carly's favorite romantic songs and had them cued on the iPod player. Tom had beer in the fridge, snacks, champagne chilled and a specific pizza place for us to order dinner if we were hungry, which... surprise surprise, I was! Here is how we decorated....
And we get the call.... they are on their way up, Carly has no idea! We are all sweating, nervous, freaking out!! We hear them, Carly walks in... music starts... I am videoing on my camera, Natalie and Jen are taking pictures. Well, you can watch yourself!!!...
YAY! Drinks are in order now! Well, except for Jen because she is with child.... a girl child!! After all this settles in with Carly, and us, we drink champagne, beer, laugh and catch up. It's so good for all 4 of us to be together, I miss it. The other couple there just sat in awe.... I don't think they have been around a group of chickens like us! We stay up till 3 or so, and wake up at 5:30 for our flight. Tired and delirious from our short nap, we go to the airport, say our goodbyes the the engaged ones and catch our flight home! We were some tired girls! Nat and I had to go to a wedding that night! Carly and Tom were leaving to go to Europe that next day... at least they had a longer flight for longer naps. All and all, it was a great 13 hour trip and our Carly is now engaged... YAY! Congratulations to both of you, I heart you both!!
